"Redirect" listed at Redirects for discussion
The redirect Redirect has been listed at redirects for discussion to determine whether its use and function meets the redirect guidelines. Readers of this page are welcome to comment on this redirect at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2024 November 27 § Redirect until a consensus is reached.
This template should always be substituted (i.e., use {{subst:Rfd notice}} ). |
If you plan to make breaking changes to this template, move it, or nominate it for deletion, please notify Twinkle's users and maintainers at Wikipedia talk:Twinkle as a courtesy, as the standard installation of Twinkle adds and removes this template. Thank you! |
Usage
This template is intended to be used on user talk pages to notify an editor involved with a redirect that the redirect in question has been listed to be discussed at Redirects for discussion. Please substitute the template using {{subst:RFD notice|PAGE_NAME}}
instead of {{Rfd notice|PAGE_NAME}}
. You're encouraged to modify this template as appropriate for unique circumstances.
When this template is used on other talk pages, as opposed to its general usage on user talk pages, its message changes slightly: instead of saying Anyone, including you, is welcome to...
it will say Readers of this page are welcome to...
.
Note: Do not create a section heading when substituting this template. Otherwise, two headings will be created as a result.
- Parameters
{{subst:RFDNote|PAGE_NAME|DISCUSSION_HEADING (optional)|days=DAYS (optional)|target=TARGET (optional)}} ~~~~
where:
PAGE_NAME
is the name of the article or page listed for discussion.DISCUSSION_HEADING
is the heading of the redirect discussion if it is different from the name of the listed page.DAYS
is the number of days before the current date in which the page was listed on the log. For example, if the page was listed yesterday on the log, then|days=
1 would be used. If the page was listed on the log three days before today, then|days=
3 would be used. Leave blank if on today's log.TARGET
is the redirect target.
The optional parameter |sectionheading=no
can be added inside second, third, etc., copies of the template when leaving multiple related RfD notices in the same edit, to prevent those later intances from generating redundant talk-page headings. This parameter does not take alternative values such as |sectionheading=n, |sectionheading=false, etc.
