COMPACT COMMISSION PROPOSED RULES:

The Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT) Commission has published Proposed Rules for consideration and comment. The Proposed Rules can be found HERE.

These Proposed Rules are open for a period of 60 days for public comment for those stakeholders interested in providing such comment. The deadline for submission of written comments is October 3, 2023.

Written comments can be submitted via the PSYPACT website (https://psypact.site-ym.com/page/PublicComment) and submitted to the PSYPACT Commission no later than 5:00 p.m. Eastern on October 3, 2023.

A public hearing will be conducted as part of the PSYPACT Commission’s Annual Meeting via Zoom on November 16, 2023, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Eastern. Interested parties may participate and notification will be posted to the PSYPACT website (https://psypact.site-ym.com/page/Meetings) 30 days prior to the meeting with call-in information provided.

Objective and Function

The primary objective of the Delaware Board of Examiners of Psychologists is to protect the public from unsafe practices and practices which tend to reduce competition or fix prices for services. The Board must also maintain standards of professional competence and service delivery. To meet these objectives, the Board

  • develops standards for professional competency
  • promulgates rules and regulations
  • adjudicates complaints against professionals and, when necessary, imposes disciplinary sanctions.

The Board issues licenses to psychologists and psychological assistants.

The Board’s statutory authority is in 24 Del. C., Chapter 35.


Meetings

Unless notified otherwise, the Board meets the first Monday of each month at 9:00 a.m., except for July, August and December. In July, the Board meets the fourth Monday of the month and does not meet in August and December. All meetings are open to the general public and are held in the Cannon Building, 861 Silver Lake Boulevard, in Dover. The meeting schedule is available at the State of Delaware public meeting calendar.

The Board/Commission may need to review and approve your application for licensure and will only review a complete application. A complete application includes your application and any documentation submitted through DELPROS and/or any documents submitted through the mail or email from third-parties. The Board/Commission will review your documentation at its next scheduled meeting.
