"Good Luck Charm" is the first segment of the forty-fourth episode of Recess.
Synopsis[]
Spinelli borrows Vince's lucky marble to pass a math test on the day Vince needs it most.
Plot[]
Vince once again shows off his athletic ability and beats Lawson at a game. When he asks how he is so good, Vince reveals that he keeps a lucky marble on him at all times, an explanation that Lawson accepts as he believes that it means that Vince is secretly not that great. Spinelli, intrigued by the marble, asks Vince if she can borrow it and he reluctantly lets her on the condition that she return it in time for him to beat a kid called the Boot in the next big football game.
Spinelli uses the marble to pass a test and happily decides to use it to perform other tricks and tasks at recess. When Vince comes by to get it, Spinelli tries to hide from him so that she can use it more. However, the marble gets knocked out of her hands and it lands in a sewer grate beyond her reach. While Spinelli stalls Vince, the rest of the Gang get to work trying to get the marble back, only for each of their attempts to comically fail. Spinelli finally tries to use grease to get the marble, but it falls deeper into the sewer.
Knowing that Vince will most likely be mad at her, Spinelli goes to him to admit that she lost the marble. Just as she tells him what happened, Vince spots a dime on the ground, seemingly forgets all about the marble, and wins the next kickoff. Spinelli does not know what happened, but T.J. tells her that everyone has their own form of luck and that Spinelli's luck came from confidence rather than the marble. With this knowledge in hand, Spinelli decides to use her confidence to show up the Ashleys.
