Diane Kruger (born Diane Heidkrüger) is a German-American actress and former fashion model. For Disney, she played Abigail Chase in the 2004 Disney adventure film National Treasure and its 2007 sequel.
Kruger was born in Germany and learned better English through student exchange programs and later French. She studied performance in London and Paris before finding work as a model in advertisements for brands and designers such as Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Salvatore Ferragamo, Giorgio Armani, Calvin Klein, and Christian Dior. She slowly transitioned into acting with The Piano Player before gaining a high-profile as Helen in 2004's Troy.
She has since appeared many films internationally such as Joyeux Noël, Copying Beethoven, Inglourious Basterds, Michel Vaillant, Wicker Park, Frankie, Out of the Blue, The Shrouds, Farewell, My Queen, and Welcome to Marwen. Her television credits include Fringe, Robot Chicken, The Bridge, Swimming with Sharks, and an upcoming series revolving around Marlene Dietrich.
