History[]
Development[]
Br'er Weasel was first introduced into the Uncle Remus comic strips.
Due to the success of the attraction at Disneyland, the Splash Mountain attraction was later constructed at Walt Disney World. Disney's artist, Suzanne Rattigan, began to create artwork designs for each character in the Critter Cave line-queue section to represent each character for the story of the attraction.
As of 2020, Splash Mountain was announced for closure to be completely reimagined into a Princess and the Frog-themed attraction due to controversy surrounding the film which inspired the attraction. The portrait of Br'er Weasel was removed and was replaced with a Tiana's Foods flyer saying "Values your safety" and a postcard saying "All are welcome!".

1948
Br'er Weasel could be seen outside a cave where he trapped Molly Cottontail's two nieces Annie and Fannie Cottontail, until Br'er Sparrow caught Br'er Weasel trapping Annie and Fannie; and warned Br'er Rabbit and Molly about Br'er Weasel's scheme kidnapping the two rabbits and trapping them inside a cave.
1986
Br'er Rabbit sings a song as he is carving two hearts on the tree, going on about Molly and him being a true hero that she needs because of her being small and helpless to defend herself, which she overhears him doing, thinking he doesn't believe that she can handle anything that a boy can. The two then walk over to a stand where they see Br'er Weasel in front of a tent somewhere in town, announcing to the civilians about the effects of his "Wonder Water" substance that can grow hair on inanimate objects by showing them the gourd, but can help folks with headaches and hiccups.
Br'er Weasel continues to sell his water tonic to the folks, leaving Br'er Rabbit all suspicious about this, believing it to be some kind of scam when something is too good to be true. But it's worse when he knows Molly has been charmed by him, especially when she can't do anything with Br'er Rabbit right now. When Br'er Weasel shows himself as Molly's date, the two give each other death glares, fantasizing about killing the other with a hanging or tar n' feathering, proving that other than Br'er Fox and Br'er Bear, Br'er Rabbit has made a new rival who has used his charm and good looks to fool many of the folks.
But for Br'er Rabbit, Br'er Terrapin is one of the other civilians that didn't trust the new salesman. So Br'er Rabbit decides to do some investigating into Br'er Weasel's tent while he's out somewhere and hopes to uncover the truth, discovering that the gourd is nothing more than a toy made to look real. Even after he finds the truth, Br'er Weasel has made it back to his tent, armed with two revolvers, which makes him a skilled gunslinger that came from the west most likely, about to show Br'er Rabbit who he really is when he's determined to keep his secrets from being exposed.
Br'er Rabbit finds out that Br'er Weasel is a con artist, a cheat and a fraud once he discovers his secrets in the tent, but Br'er Weasel is not the least bit worried when he believes that he already has the rabbit right where he wants him, threatening to use his guns if he tries anything stupid, having not yet fired a warning shot, but will not hesitate to do so if he must. To make his point clear and make sure he never tells anyone what he saw, Br'er Weasel forces Br'er Rabbit outside the tent and down the road, knowing the perfect spot to take him where nobody else in town would ever see, but neither of them see Molly hiding quietly behind a tree to witness everything. By the time that the two arrive at the location, Br'er Weasel is plotting to LYNCH Br'er Rabbit, but wants to make this into a game of some kind with him, as he claims to be teaching him a hard lesson about what happens to those that meddle in other people's business.
He has Br'er Rabbit standing on a log with a knife holding it down, saying he's got his own destiny to handle as long as he keeps his feet on the log from rolling down the hill. Leaving him behind, Br'er Weasel is confident that there are no witnesses to see what he's done and nobody to save Br'er Rabbit from an upcoming, painful death that will soon come for him at any second. Br'er Rabbit struggles to hold onto that log which is the only thing keeping him from slipping and choking to death on the rope around his neck, fearful as he believes his life is flashing before his eyes.
It would seem that all is lost for him if he has no idea how to get out, if not for a mysterious person coming to his rescue just when he finally loses the strength to hang onto that log any longer and slips off, thinking that the end has come for him, until he regains consciousness to find that he is still alive. However it happened, he has something to take care of first by going into town to get the sheriff, waking him as he takes him back to the same tent where he's been asleep.
Now we have got many folks attracted by the attention Br'er Rabbit is calling out when exposing Br'er Weasel after he tried to kill him, starting out with his fake products behind the tent, but is almost lost when the weasel challenges him again to prove to everyone that he tried to hang him when he still believes there were no other witnesses around at the time when he made him march outside all the way to the tree, until Molly reveals herself as the witness needed to prove that Br'er Rabbit is not lying about anything this time, meaning that Br'er Weasel most likely left other evidence such as the rope quality that nobody else in town uses except for him. And that's enough for Br'er Weasel to be dragged away by the sheriff with Br'er Fox's help. Once he's dragged away, Molly asks Br'er Rabbit how it feels to be rescued by a helpless bunny like her, leaving him speechless.
