Thanatos is the son of Nyx and the god of Death in Greek mythology. He appeared in a vision of Wonder Woman when she was near-death after being fatally wounded from a machine-gun fire that ricocheted off Superman.
Thanatos was adapted by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez, first appearing in New Teen Titans #11 (1981).
