Lantern Jo Mullein is a member of the Green Lantern Corps. She is assigned a sector so far from Oa she is not sure if it's been numbered, and she just refers to it as the Far Sector.

Origins

Jo comes from a lower class family who struggled to pay for rent despite her parents best efforts, a situation made worst by her father tensions with and mother, which ultimately resulted in a divorce. On 11 September 2001 while Jo was accompanying her father out of the divorce court they witnessed the attack on the World Trade Center and jumped in to help rescue the survivors and swore to help make a difference in the world. She graduated from high school, but while celebrating her diploma her family was harassed by the racist establishment owner, she then got accepted to Princeton University and enlisted in the military to pay for her studies. While deployed overseas she questioned her actions after seeing an injured child and many locals burying their loved ones and quit the army. She then attended Princeton University for some time before becoming a police officer but witnessed her partner almost beat a suspect to death, she reported him to internal affairs after he got paid leave but was soon fired from the job for being tagged in a BLM post, she then agreed to testify in court against her former partner. While burying her sorrows in drinks Jo was approached by a Guardian who offered her a job.[1]

Dark Crisis

After the death of the Justice League at the hands of Pariah's Dark Army, Jo and Hal Jordan rejected the offer from Jon Kent to form a new League.[2] Instead, the Corps traveled to Ryut, the home of the Black Lantern Central Power Battery, which Hal theorized could help them reach Nekron, and by extension Pariah and the Dark Army. When Jo, Hal, and Kyle Rayner entered the Lantern, they found Pariah holding the League captive in individual "paradise worlds" within Multiverse-2.[3] Jo and Kyle fought but were overpowered by Pariah's forces, but before he could trap them in their own "paradise worlds," Hal returned with the reunited Justice League, an act which triggers a Crisis as Pariah transports himself and the Dark Army to Earth.[4]

Jo returns to Earth alongside the Green Lantern Corps to face the combined forces of Pariah and Deathstroke.[5] While on the battlefield, Jo rallies the surrounding Lanterns to successfully hold the line against an invading army of Shadow Demons.[6]
