Rex, one of multiple individuals to use the identity of Mad Dog, is a bounty hunter who has worked on behalf of a number of parties, both with and against the Suicide Squad. He was killed during his membership of that group, only to later be restored to life.
History
He was sent after the Suicide Squad to get a new born baby back. He knew the true identity of Deadshot and he was surprised to see him as a part of the Suicide Squad because he thought Deadshot was in Belle Reve.
Deadshot identified him as a bounty hunter after "the package," which was also the object of the Suicide Squad's mission in the Astrodome. While using thermal vision on his mask to see through smoke, Mad Dog shot Black Spider in the chest and blew up a diner with Black Spider and El Diablo inside. Before he could fire anymore shots and steal "the package", Harley Quinn released gas into the room to prevent further gunfire.
They evacuated the building which then exploded. Mad Dog then ran away but encountered King Shark. Though King Shark claimed the pendant he wore around his neck as a prize,[1] Mad Dog survived, but was eventually incarcerated after the death of a bounty and joined the same Suicide Squad that he had fought. They were tasked with retrieving an official named George Carmody in England who had been taken by Strikeforce Europa, a mercenary group. They engaged the team and managed to extract Carmody, but Mad Dog was injured and fell behind as the Squad made their escape. He was left for dead by his teammate Captain Boomering, and Amanda Waller detonated the bomb in Mad Dog's head, at once killing him and Guerrieroa of Strikeforce Europa.[2]
In Hell, the deceased Mad Dog joined with a group of other dead Squad members in attacking the team's living members, killing Culebra before "dying" once again at the hands of her teammate Talon.[3] Mad Dog was somehow revived, and joined the Demon's Shadow, a group gathered by Talia al Ghul to hunt Deathstroke, her father's supposed killer. With them, Mad Dog fought against the Body Doubles, members of Deathstroke's Secret Society, and Deathstroke himself.[4]
