Gen 13 (Volume 2) with a cover date of February, 2001.
Synopsis for "Behind the Powers"
Gen 13 watches a recording of a documentary about them called “Gen 13: Behind the Powers” summarizing their origin and early history. It goes on to reveal how, following an incident on Coronado Island, the team became rich and famous, but tensions within the team led them to break up. Caitlin, Roxy, and Sarah sued Grunge for sexual harassment and lost. Caitlin went on to teach at Princeton but died in battle with Helmut. Rainmaker became a full-time activist but went to prison and was executed for murdering a racist baseball team owner on national television. Roxy had a series of doomed relationships with various celebrities, grew obese, and was then killed by police during a rampage at an award show. Bobby enjoyed a short-lived music career before succumbing to drug addiction, finally dying via spontaneous combustion in a crack house. Grunge became a B-movie action star and gloats that, of the team, he alone survived, driving the filmmakers to attack him. After they watch the documentary, undead versions of Caitlin, Roxy, and Sarah question why Grunge survived and proceed to eat his brain.
Grunge wakes up and realizes the entire experience was only a nightmare just as the rest of the team returns home and wonders why he is so jittery.
