Synopsis for Johnny Thunder: "Telegram from Daisy"
Johnny receives a telegram from Daisy Darling to meet her at the train station. The befuddled Johhny hails a cab, which takes him to the police station instead of the train station. A robber fleeing from police jumps in the cab, which drives away.
-- After the robber escapes, the cab driver lets Johnny drive. The cab is equipped with several crazy inventions created by the driver. Johnny wrecks the cab, then arrives at the train station too late to meet Daisy. The cab driver is angry at Johnny, who runs out of the station to elude the driver and find Daisy.
-- Entire plot is resolved when Peachy Pet confronts the eggheaded writer of the Johnny Thunder feature and tells him what's what.

Synopsis for Hawkman: "The Painter and the $100,000"
Would-be artist Aaron Moore's waiting at the home of his boss for Carter Hall to show up and advise him on selling his paintings, when a group of thieves show up. Hall changes to Hawkman and goes on the attack as soon as he does arrive, and in the chaos of him fighting the criminals, Moore decides to steal $100,000 from his boss's safe and let the thieves take the rap, his conscience clear because he knows his boss has insurance. Unfortunately for him, Hawkman caught all the thieves before any could get away, so Moore's the only suspect when the hero notices the empty safe. He follows and sees Moore bury the money, then digs it up and take it back to its rightful owner. However, Hawkman shows the rich boss Moore's work, and gets him to help with a plan to show Moore the error of his ways.
Hawkman's plan: to leave Moore alone at his mountain retreat with his conscience, after which the hero's sure he'll have learned enough to turn over a new leaf when he gets back. However, Moore hears about the success of his paintings over the radio, and goes back to own up to what he's done right away. A pair of crooks who were friends to the thieves who tried to rob Moore's boss abduct Moore and force him to take him to the loot they think he still has. Fortunately, Hawkman's come to collect Moore at that exact time, allowing him to capture the two criminals and tell Moore about his artistic success.
