Synopsis for Green Lantern: "The Country Fair Crimes"
The Country Fair comes to Gotham City. After marveling at some modern ranching techniques, Alan and Doiby come across Jerry, a young farmboy desperate to win the fair's horse race to get the prize money. His father was paralyzed after a bad fall and that much money will pay for his operation. After hearing his story Alan's happy to give the boy the $25 needed to enter the race. Another racer crashes into Jerry's rig, but Alan quickly becomes Green Lantern and saves the boy, who goes on to win the race. Lantern then saves Jerry from being bilked at a game of three shell monte, but is knocked out by the crooked operator's buddies with a wooden bat. Jerry and the heroes are put in a deathtrap in the thresher machinery exhibit, but Lantern regains consciousness and rescues them in the nick of time. He captures the crooks, and finds out they were sent after Jerry because a member of the gang was Jeb Collins, a farmhand who'd been fired by Jerry's father. The money's recovered, and Jerry's father get the treatment he needs to recover from his injury.
