Synopsis for "Partners in Peril"
Alan Scott learns to his great annoyance that the Harlequin has escaped from police captivity. His secretary types one-handed in an effort to make Scott notice her new diamond bracelet, which gives him an idea of how to set a trap for the Harlequin: a beauty contest with a "Harlequin Opal" ring as the prize. Molly does become the Harlequin and enter the contest (partly to spite Scott, with his offhand remark that the Harlequin could never actually win a beauty contest). The Harlequin makes it to the final two contestants, but refuses to take off her spectacles. Before Green Lantern can press the issue, it turns out members of her gang switched places with the judges and robbed the take (against her instructions), and to get away she uses her spectacles to create a hologram of a tidal wave flooding the stadium. GL tells the real judges the Harlequin's in for a surprise of her own; the ring that was the prize is actually a miniature camera, and with it he can secretly learn the Harlequin's true identity.
The villainess' gang robs a diamond haul next, and when Harlequin tries to stop them (she learned one of the diamonds was needed to perform emergency surgery), they tie her up inside of a giant walnut-shaped shell made of diamond and close it around Green Lantern when he shows up. The hero saves them with his ring and they mop up Harlequin's former partners in crime. She not only gets away after this, she also found out the ring was a camera and destroyed the film, so Alan Scott still has no clue who his nemesis really is.
