Synopsis for Green Lantern: "Doiby Dickles, the Human Bomb"
From Bedlam Hall on Mt. Horror, a fiendish mad scientist sends his beautiful daughter, Drina, to find a subject for his experiments down in Gotham - the lucky one is Doiby Dickles, Green Lantern's sidekick. Green Lantern tries to intervene, but Drina hits him with her purse which happens to have a wooden grip. With Doiby in his clutches, the mad scientist performs his experiment, and turns Doiby into a human bomb that'll go off at the first hard jostle. However, Drina's fallen for Doiby and releases him, and the cabbie goes to track down the hoods he and Green Lantern have actually hunting: Herman, Sherman and Vermin, who've bought up the land around the mad scientist's castle, and plan to blow up the mountain and claim whatever valuable salvage lands on their property.
Doiby and Green Lantern attack them from front and back, but the mad scientist and his entourage have shown up to reclaim Doiby. Not buying Doiby's story about being a volatile human explosive, Green Lantern surrenders more because the scientist is threatening him with a wooden club, secretly the only thing that can harm him. The scientist puts them in the basement of an arsenal and lights a fuse, but Lantern and Doiby are actually saved by Herman, Sherman, and Vermin, who leave them there but make off with explosives to blow up the scientist's mountain. They succeed in destroying the mountain but Green Lantern saves the castle with the people inside. The only thing that lands on the criminal trio is the scientists' collection of lab animals, and the scientists themselves are revealed to just be testing the effects of fear on a specimen, Doiby, by pretending to be mad scientists. He only drank water, not volatile explosive. And to his disappointment, Drina isn't nearly as attractive without her makeup.
