Synopsis for Green Lantern: "The Disappearing Damsel"
Irene Miller asks for help from Alan and Doiby. That day she'd gone to lunch with an old friend, but at one point she turned around and her friend was gone, and every sign of the interactions they'd had was gone as well. Alan tells Irene she must've imagined it, but Doiby's willing to listen and goes back to the restaurant with her to investigate. His belief just a pretext to step away from the others, Alan changes to Green Lantern and follows the pair to help out. Much to Irene's relief, as Doiby vanishes from his seat as soon as she turns to welcome Green Lantern to the eatery. The hero doesn't buy the staff's story that Irene came in by herself, and a piercing ray from his ring reveals a trapdoor on the other side of Irene's table. Realizing the jig's up, the restaurant's staff attack Green Lantern. A meat cleaver to his head only breaks but a wooden chair to the skull knocks him out cold.
Meanwhile, Doiby lands in the basement and is tied up in a back room with Cora. The German spies operating out of the restaurant turn a valve to flood the room with poison gas, while topside one of them takes Green Lantern and Irene to dump them in the river. The icy waters awaken the hero, and he burns a way out of the sinking car with his power beam. Back at the hideout, the villains are preparing to gun down Cora and Doiby, but Green Lantern blazes through the wall as easily as he did the car. After making short work of the spies, a man comes in representing the European country of Tirania, who informs Cora that she's really their crown princess. She proposes Doiby become her king, but the thought of wearing fancy clothes and sitting on a throne all day offends his salt-of-the-earth sensibilities, and he declines, fleeing at top speed in his old jalopy.

Synopsis for Sargon the Sorcerer: "Shanghaied"
Returning to his hotel room, Sargon finds himself chloroformed by a trio of islanders and taken aboard a plane. Once airborne he regains consciousness, then uses his magic to show the islanders what they've gotten themselves into. After giving them a scare, he's told why they kidnapped him: they're from the jungle island of Malaya, which was recently invaded by the Japanese, and want Sargon to use his magic to help them. If it'll hurt the Axis, that's all he needs to hear.
However, Sargon knows even his magic can't defeat an entire army, and designs instead to weaken the occupying force by stealing their abundant supplies of rubber. He brings the very trees of the Malayan jungle to life to march on the Japanese base, then has the Malayans steal the rubber in small boats and junks that Japanese bombers won't think to attack. He covers their escape by magically steering a freighter onto land, and upon hearing it's full of munitions, commanding it to explode. Weeks later the Malayan vessels make land in Australia where they turn their confiscated rubber supplies over to the local military.
