Synopsis for Green Lantern: "..., Our New Police Chief"
Middle Village is threatened by a rampant crime wave, and no chief of police to lead resistance. Irene Miller complains about the inhumanity of the situation to Alan Scott, who decides to switch to Green Lantern and take the position of police chief. He takes a very hands-on approach, yanking reckless drivers out of their cars and showing them what it's like to nearly be run over. He saves a bridge-jumper who's lost everything to a gambling addiction then, with Doiby, who's wearing a simulacrum of his costume, Green Lantern crashes into the house of illicit gambling, destroys the place then hunts down the supplier of the rigged slot machines. He melts them with his green flame before hauling in the gambling racket members in emerald handcuffs.
Crime boss Big Mike Costello frames Green Lantern by making it seem like he's taking payoffs, but Green Lantern escapes. The mayor's secretary commits suicide, supposedly exonerating Green Lantern by admitting to being the city's crime kingpin, but a Latin phrase in his suicide note ("Aedilis Me Necabit") implicates Police Commissioner Burkis, as the hero claims it means "the police commissioner is about to murder me". Locking up Burkis, the real crime kingpin, Green Lantern's offered the job of police chief permanently, but he declines, since somewhere else there's bound to be another town in need. After riding in a ticker tape parade, that is.

At his shady pool hall, the unscrupulous Pingler sees two "misguided youths" hanging out and asks if they're interested in making some money going to college...
Soon, Al sees the two boys as new on campus and goes over to introduce himself, only to be tossed aside, and later in class they trip him up in front of the professor. Deciding being made to look bad in front of the faculty is crossing a line, he suits up as the Atom after school to hunt down the boys and teach them a lesson. The pint-size hero catches them breaking into the library to steal some rare first editions, but Atom beats on them and lectures them about the value of a good education and being upstanding citizens. Seeing them being chummy with Al later, Pingler confronts the two boys, but Al becomes the Atom and comes after him. Pingler shoots and makes a getaway, but the Atom appears unharmed and knocks him out. The thick book Pingler had been meaning to steal actually stopped the bullet.

Synopsis for Sargon: "Air Raid"
Sargon performs at a military camp just before it's bombed, and nobody can explain why they couldn't spot the enemy planes. After a second attack at another camp, Sargon figures out the trick, and is able to use his knowledge to thwart a third strike: the balloon dancer who performed before him at each of the camps was really a Japanese spy who sent up flares on balloons to direct the bombers, which were coated with mirror glass on their undersides so the camps' spotlights reflected off of them, revealing no targets.
