The Ranger is an Australian vigilante inspired by Batman. This made him a member of the Club of Heroes. Years after they disbanded, he became the Dark Ranger in response to more violent criminals. His former teammate Wingman killed him during a reunion, to use his costume as a disguise. Ranger's sidekick was Johnny Riley, who used the name Scout. Riley took the Dark Ranger costume when his mentor died, becoming a member of Batman Incorporated. The Ranger was created by Edmond Hamilton and Sheldon Moldoff, first appearing in Detective Comics #215. (1955)
