All-American Comics #68 is an issue of the series All-American Comics (Volume 1) with a cover date of September, 1945.

Synopsis for Green Lantern: "Napoleon and Joe Safeen"

Beleaguered gangster Joe Safeen's preparing to skip town to escape Green Lantern, but comes upon an escaped mental patient called Napoleon, who's a whiz with numbers. Joe has him figure out the combination to a store's safe, but is spotted in the act by Doiby, who uses a supersonic signalling device to call Green Lantern for help. A brawl ensues that ends when Napoleon spots the orderlies coming to bring him back to the asylum, and tips over a wooden mannequin that knocks out Lantern.

Lantern and Doiby trail the Safeen gang to another store. They split up, with Doiby going in the back and Lantern going in the front. The hero's jumped by the orderlies because of his strange garb, only for them to realize he isn't an escaped inmate because he's wearing the wrong strange garb. Green Lantern goes in and gets knocked out by gang members wielding wooden bats, and they split up to avoid detection. Joe takes Green lantern and tells Napoleon to take Doiby and meet up with them later. Napoleon gets another idea and forces Doiby to switch clothes at gunpoint. Meanwhile, the Safeen gang puts Lantern in a room they've doused with gasoline and leave a burning candle on his forehead to ignite it. Doiby finds him and knocks the candle away by throwing his signature hat like a boomerang.

Needing to find Napoleon before he can crack any more safes for Safeen, Green Lantern gets the idea to fly around singing the French national anthem. Sure enough, Napoleon leans out a window to correct Lantern's lyrics. Inside the room, the Safeen gang is committing another robbery, but this time the duo manages to capture them. Green Lantern delivers Napoleon back to the asylum, only to learn he isn't a patient, he's the head of the facility who took an unannounced vacation.

Synopsis for Doctor Mid-Nite: "The Curse of the Caliphs"

Pickpocket Fingers Wakefield is panicking: whenever he puts his hand into something dark, like a pocket in search of someone else's valuables, he has visions of being touched by otherworldly horrors. Seeing Dr. Mid-Nite beating up some other thieves, Fingers decides he's desperate enough to ask the super hero for help. He explains he'd gotten a forged invite to a high society party, figuring to make a good night's work on the visiting rich folk. A magician was entertaining at the party, however, supposedly using his psychic powers to determine what was in the attendees' pockets without looking. When they checked his predictions, they realized they'd been robbed, and Fingers split before he could be caught. Later the magician appeared to him and cursed him. Mid-Nite's dubious, but investigates anyway because the presence of so many thieves at a society party makes him suspicious that something else is going on. After catching the magician and his cohorts, they confess that the other pickpockets identified what their victims were carrying for the magician, to be able to tell who had the richest pickings. As for Fingers, the other thieves told their boss about his superstitious nature, and surreptitiously hid jellyfish in his pockets to make him think he was being stalked by supernatural beings.
