All-American Comics #64 is an issue of the series All-American Comics (Volume 1) with a cover date of March, 1945.
Synopsis for Green Lantern: "A Bag of Assorted Nuts"
Doiby, who thinks he's mentally disturbed because he keeps stepping on the wrong pedal, is consulting a doctor when gang boss Mazda Grady comes in to get help with a sudden case of nyctophobia. Which with how much of his illicit work he does at night, is ruining his crime business. Since the doctor can't prescribe him anything to help on the spot, the gang kidnaps the doctor to give him time to work something out back at the hideout. While they drive away, he writes a few letters on the rear window with his finger for Doiby to see, and when he relays them to Alan Scott the hero deduces their hideout's at the old Bijou Theater. One change of costume and oath later, Green Lantern's flying across town to intercept the criminals. Meanwhile, Doiby's afraid to drive with his mental paralysis, and buys a crazy old horse from a junk vendor to ride instead. When he gets to the theater Doiby learns the horse's mania: it crashes through a market window to sit on the eggs on display there.
A strange chase ensues, first to a night club, then a camera shop, as the various characters' psychoses act up. Doiby manages to get the horse to go where he wants by dangling a chicken in front of it, and when Mazda finds himself locked in the camera place's darkroom, he panics and shoots himself to escape his worst fear. The doctor takes a closer look at him and Doiby's problem is revealed as simply putting his shoes on the wrong feet. Doiby tries to ride the horse back to where he parked his cab, only for the horse to jump off a bridge and into the river. As its original owner helpfully explains, the horse also likes sitting on fish.

Synopsis for Dr. Mid-Nite: "The Color of Crime"
Elderly millionaire Abner Pearson keeps tripping over furniture, claiming he can't see anything there, and his nephew Ralph worries this means he's losing his mind. To get a professional opinion, Abner visits his old doctor, Charles McNider. The doctor goes back in costume that night to try to find clues when it turns out Abner's brother was recently murdered when no-one else was supposed to be in the house. He finds some toughs hassling Ralph, but after Dr. Mid-Nite beats them up, Ralph vocally refuses to press charges. Soon the hero visits the police to see the murder weapon, and notes it's a red axe, a strange choice for a murder weapon. There were also no fingerprints, meaning the killer wore gloves, which is a strangely forward-thinking thing for a madman to do.
Mid-Nite returns to the Pearson home and finds the toughs hassling Ralph again. After manhandling them with the help of some playground equipment, they admit the reason they keep coming back to have an angry chat with Ralph is he owes the casino where they work a lot of money. He said he'd be coming into a large sum soon to pay off his debts, though. Returning to the Pearson residence to deliver the bad news he's going to recommend Abner be committed, Mid-Nite sees him tripping over a red footstool and makes a connection: Abner Pearson is colorblind and unable to see anything colored red. Ralph was putting red furniture around the house to make it seem like his uncle was losing his mind. Ralph did so to take control of the Pearson family funds to pay off his gambling debts. Mid-Nite realized Abner couldn't have murdered his brother, because the murder weapon was a red axe: he couldn't have used it to kill anybody, because with his condition, he never would've seen it!

- Dr. Mid-Nite explains the weapon used to kill the victim was a red-colored axe, but the axe shown to him by the police as a murder weapon is not colored red. Seemingly a coloring error, perhaps because of being held in front of Mid-Nite's red vest.
