- Le lycée Saint Ignatius à Riverview, est un lycée catholique de garçons au recrutement non-sélectif créé en 1880 par les Jésuites et situé dans le quartier de Riverview sur la de la baie de Sydney en Nouvelle-Galles du Sud. Il est membre de l'Association sportive des Grandes écoles privées de Nouvelle-Galles du Sud (La "GPS"). Actuellement, il accueille environ 1 550 élèves (avec 350 internes). L'école, fondée par le jésuite irlandais, le père Joseph Dalton, selon la tradition de Saint Ignace de Loyola (1491-1556), a pour objectif de préparer ses élèves à "devenir des jeunes hommes compétents, consciencieux et respectueux envers les autres". La devise du collège est Quantum Potes Tantum Aude (Ose tant que tu pourras). Les éléments les plus marquants du collège sont son bâtiment principal à l'architecture victorienne construit de 1885 à 1930; sa vue sur la rivière Lane Cove et l'amphithéâtre naturel de son "First Field", où jouent ses équipes de rugby et de cricket. Il y a une grande tradition sportive à Riverview : surtout l'aviron, le rugby à XV, le cricket et le tennis. Le Riverview Gold Cup Regatta, sur la Lane Cove devant le lycée, est la course d'aviron la plus ancienne d'Australie (elle date de 1885). Chaque année, le match de rugby entre Riverview et Saint Joseph's College, Hunters Hill attire un grand nombre de spectateurs (jusqu'à 20 000). (fr)
- Saint Ignatius' College Riverview is an Australian independent single-sex primary and secondary day and boarding school for boys, conducted in the Jesuit tradition, located in Riverview, a small suburb located on the Lane Cove River on the Lower North Shore of Sydney, New South Wales. Established in 1880 by Joseph Dalton SJ, Saint Ignatius' is a Jesuit school in the tradition of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. It is part of the international network of Jesuit schools that began in Messina, Sicily in 1548. Saint Ignatius' College has a non-selective enrolment policy and currently caters for approximately 1,560 students from Years 5 to 12, including 335 boarders in Years 6 to 12. The College is a member of the Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia (AHISA), the Junior School Heads Association of Australia (JSHAA), the Australian Boarding Schools' Association, and is a founding member of the Athletic Association of the Great Public Schools of New South Wales (AAGPS). Numerous leading contributors to Australian politics, arts, law, religion and sport were educated at Riverview. Notable alumni include former Prime Minister of Australia Tony Abbott; former Deputy Prime Minister of Australia Barnaby Joyce; the current Chief Justice of New South Wales, Tom Bathurst; the current Archbishop of Sydney, Anthony Fisher OP; former Premier of New South Wales Nick Greiner; seventeen former Wallabies, nine Olympians and eight Rhodes Scholars; as well as the first Australian-born astronaut, Paul Scully-Power, and numerous writers including poet Christopher Brennan, art critic Robert Hughes, and playwright Nick Enright.
