- Electro World is an electronics online retailer founded in 2002 and operating in Sweden. It also operated in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Greece and Turkey, as a subsidiary of Currys plc (formerly DSG International, then Dixons Carphone), until operations in those countries were sold off. Electro World operated stores in some countries, and was online-only in others. It arrived in Sweden as an online brand, replacing the PC City website there. PC City's physical stores in Sweden had already been closed down in 2009. In 2009, the Polish Electro World operation was sold by DSG International to Mix Electronics. In September 2013, Dixons Retail announced that they would sell the Electro World operations in Turkey to Bimeks. Electro World in Turkey was subsequently integrated into Bimeks. Dixons Retail agreed in May 2014 to sell Electro World in the Czech Republic and Slovakia to Nay. The online Electro World operations in Greece have been merged with Dixons Retail's existing business Kotsovolos. (en)

Sieć powstała dla Europy Centralnej i otworzyła ona sklepy w 6 krajach: Czechach, Grecji, Polsce, Słowacji, Turcji i Węgrzech. W 2008 Electro World uruchomił sklep internetowy. Electr Wworld ingår i ett av Europas ledande elektronikföretag, Dixons Retail Group PLC. Electroworld är ett dotterbolag till Elgiganten AB. Dixons Retail driver försäljning inom detaljhandeln och e-handeln och finns representerade i 28 europeiska länder. Med över 1.300 butiker och 40.000 anställda driver Dixons Retail bland annat PC World, Currys och Dixons.co.uk i Storbritannien och på Irland, UniEuro i Italien och Kotsovolos i Grekland. Electro World består i dagsläget av 20 fysiska butiker i Tjeckien, 7 st i Grekland, 3 st i Slovakien och 19 st i Turkiet. Electro World driver även e-handel i samtliga av dessa länder. Electro World startade försäljning i Sverige i maj 2011. I februari 2016 meddelade Electro World via sin hemsida att man avvecklar verksamheten i Sverige och hänvisar kunderna till systersajten Elgiganten.se. (sv)
