About CVWD
Welcome to the Coachella Valley Water District. CVWD was formed in 1918 to protect and conserve local water sources. Since then, the District has grown into a multifaceted agency that delivers irrigation and domestic (drinking) water, collects and recycles wastewater, provides regional storm water protection, replenishes the groundwater basin and promotes water conservation.

Organization
Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) is a special district established by the state legislature and certified by state officials on January 16, 1918. CVWD is governed by a 5-member Board of Directors.

Government Affairs
For more than 100 years, CVWD has been working to protect the water resources that are vital to a thriving Coachella Valley. To further that mission, CVWD employs a full-time Government Affairs Specialist as well as lobbyists in both Sacramento and Washington, D.C. to track policy and work on behalf of our customers.
