Parking Information - Jury Service - Superior Court - Delaware Courts - State of Delaware

     

The Delaware State Courts will be closed on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29, 2024 for Thanksgiving. Justice of the Peace Court 11 (New Castle County) and Court 7 (Kent County) will remain open 24 hours and Justice of the Peace Court 3 (Sussex County) will be open from 6AM – 12AM (no new cases after 11:00PM).

Parking in the garage is unassigned, therefore please park where you like. Superior Court does have a limited number of free parking spaces available for our jurors. However, no one is guaranteed free parking while on jury duty. Please be prepared to pay the full $11.00 when you come for your jury service. Please remember to bring your parking stub with you when you report to jury duty. If you park in any other facility, please be advised the Court cannot pay for your parking. Please do not park at a metered parking spot. You may be unable to leave at your leisure.

Directions from the North

Take I-95 toward Wilmington/Baltimore

Take exit 6/Fourth St M.L. King Jr. Blvd.

At traffic light intersection of 4th Street and N Jackson street, continue straight onto North Jackson Street staying in the left most lane.

At intersection of N Jackson Street and M.L.K. Jr. Blvd, make Left onto M.L.K. Jr. Blvd.

Take M.L.K. Jr. Blvd continuing until it ends at the intersection of E Front St and N Walnut St. Make a left onto N Walnut Street.

Keep Left at the fork to go on N. Walnut St.

Turn left at the 3rd driveway after the 4th Street intersection. It is under the large white PARK sign. This is the entrance to the parking garage.

Directions from the South

Take I-95 N toward I-495/Wilmington/Philadelphia.

Keep left to take I-95 N/US-202 N towards Wilmington.

Merge onto Maryland Ave./DE-4 via EXIT 6 toward ML King Jr. Blvd.

Turn Right onto Martin Luther King Blvd. /DE-48. Continue to follow DE-48

Take M.L.K. Jr. Blvd continuing until it ends at the intersection of E Front St and N Walnut St. Make a left onto N Walnut Street.

Turn left onto N Walnut St. /US-13 Bus. N.

Keep Left at the fork to go on N. Walnut St.

Turn left at the 3rd driveway after the 4th Street intersection. It is under the large white PARK sign. This is the entrance to the parking garage.


KENT COUNTY

There is street parking around the courthouse and on New Street and Bank Lane, west of Governor’s Avenue. In addition to street parking, there are parking lots at other State office buildings, near Del-One Federal Credit Union, and at the corner of Water Street and Governor’s Avenue.

Juror’s Please Note: Do not park in “Reserved For,” Permit Only,” “2-Hour Parking,” or “1-Hour Parking” spaces. Do not park in private or business lots without the owner’s permission.


SUSSEX COUNTY

Jurors who arrive early, may possibly find a parking space in the Courthouse's Parking Lot located at East Pine Street and South Race Street. If no parking is available in the Courthouse Lot, juror's may park on South Race Street, the street that runs behind the Courthouse. However, the parking spaces closest to the Courthouse have parking meters. Jurors can find non-metered on-street parking further down the street (proceed through the intersection heading south toward Union Cemetery).

Jurors may also park on Pine Street which intersects with South Race Street, as well as along North and South Railroad Avenue.
