VERY FEW VIEWS ?!

I noticed a few days ago a new view counter on my items and there was a pop-up about a new way to count views (is this new for everyone or have others already had this for awhile?).... and now many of my items have very little & some have even ZERO views...what gives?  what is the point of listing if nobody can see my items anymore? 😞

Yeah I've been a seller for almost a decade now. No problem whatsoever with views ...EVER. They're manipulating my views now because I refuse to "pay to promote listing". Absolutely ridiculous that they want more money from us to sell our stuff and then they take 15-16% of that.

Plus, as of this year, we have to file a 1099k and with our taxes. I sware to God uncle Sam has desperate fingers.

Being a small time seller is pointless now. It's literally a 100% loss. Thanks to Biden... seriously. You spend like the reserve is your own endless bank, screw every man, woman and child into a trash economy and future, then send in the wolves for any "extra" scrap we might pick up.

Re: VERY FEW VIEWS ?!

I too have seen a dramatic drop in views similar to what a number of others have mentioned. However, the number of views was never one of my concerns. To me it is all about sales, and it all starts with impressions. If your listing isn't visible to eBay shoppers, then the chances of it being viewed are zip.

I use the eBay reports to watch the numbers pretty closely. Somewhere around the March-April timeframe the number of impressions began to tank. As of today, based on the eBay performance reports, my overall impressions are down almost 50%. Consequently, so are sales. I have less than 200 listings, so not a lot, but historically on average I would sell about 2-3 items per day. Now I’m lucky to get 1 a week.

I’ve always been a big fan of eBay…..been a member since 2001, and actively selling for the last four years. I truly did my best and put in the work to earn any success I’ve experienced on the platform. However, over the four year period no matter what I tried I was never able to see any growth. I could list 100 items or 1,000 items, and traffic would be about the same as would sales. It was almost like eBay placed a cap on how much activity or sales I was allowed.

Now, with whatever recent changes eBay implemented, I basically have no sales. It’s really come to the point where it is no longer a smart business decision to invest time in something that has so little return. What is even more frustrating is there is no way to communicate with anyone to get help. Online support can help with the basics, but these issues go beyond that level. For now, my intent is to ride out my store subscription period, then call it a day if things don’t drastically improve before it is time to renew. I’m an optimist, so I’m hoping for improvement…..fingers crossed :-).

Re: VERY FEW VIEWS ?!

The customer service rep I talked to at eBay assured me that buyers cannot see our "views" data on an item, and that she could see the actual numbers in her computer system, cited a few examples of some of my items (weird).  Still, as many of us have been saying, it is not just the views that are the concern the past few months (since their IT  been playing around with it) But Sales are Down drastically!! Plus it looks like they have gone "Woke" and I am beginning to think they are targeting sellers that are Not one of "them".  I had items listed, that I have found in "Solds" prior to listing, they have pulled my listings of like items saying they are not allowed (i.e. Black Americana advertising, UV light sanitizer wand, etc) Been with eBay for Years, but Getting very Discouraged.

Re: VERY FEW VIEWS ?!

Well at least your items come up in your own search. I tried as a test one time (using the Exact wording of my listing title) and I could not find a few of my items. I am beginning to think if you don't pay for their "Upgrade Premium) listing service, which cost you extra, you may be being screwed totally! It might be time to research another avenue for online selling.

Re: VERY FEW VIEWS ?!

OK, with the New 30 running average how do you easily determine your views per day, I did a test, had an item with 290 views on day 30, added a note "290 count", on day 31 views showed 288, so how many views did I have on day 31, SEE WHAT I'M SAYING, if you run GTC,  after 30 days, you can't tell whether you are having views on any given day or if your loosing viewership, only if you end your listing on day 30 and relist can you tell whether your being viewed or not.
