<P>Has anyone seen this lamp anywhere? I have one and not sure where it is from or how old. It has light bulb inside and convection makes the scenes inside rotate and project through the lampshade. There are often interesting stories behind the creation of Disney's European merchandising... as during the 1930's - 1950's, the company sometimes had challenges in maintaining consistent standards with character likeness and product designs. <P>Hi Dave, </P><P> </P><P> My husband and I purchased his family home from 1843 in Antwerp, Belgium, including it's contents. I discovered in one of the boxes a whole collection of vintage and antique cards that came with chocolates and from businesses from the late 1800s to the 1950s. Included in the bunch was a complete collection of 133 and additional duplicates of chocolate cards from Petit Beurre de Beukelaer labeled "Chocolat Disneyland" and in fine print in Dutch and French "with authorization from the Walt Disney Mickey Mouse S.A. (or N.V. for Dutch)". Each card has a different illustration and they appear to be in the style from around the time Pinocchio came out, so I'm guessing the 1940s or early 50s given the font style on the backs. My husband and I would love to know if you can tell us any collectible information about these cards; they are simply cut paper, but in very good condition. <P>This just looks like a custom piece I would not say it is counterfeit because there is no false trademarks and is not a look alike remake of something Disney made. It does not look to me to be something someone is trying to pass off as authentic. You would just need to be careful if the face was a template when it was etched, it could not be a copied template of an unauthorized reproduction. If this is your I would just make sure it is listed correctly and not Disney branded but listed as a custom piece.</P><P>Also I would not assume because an item is low value people wont fake it..
