Deutsch: Eine Heinkel He 111 H-16 der deutschen Luftwaffe 1944. Diese Version konnte mit FZG 76 (V1) Lenkbomben ausgerüstet werden. Von dieser He 111-Version wurde 1944 nur eine kleine Serie hergestellt. Einige wurden beim KG 3 eingesetzt.
English: A German Luftwaffe Heinkel He 111 H-22. This version could carry FZG 76 (V1) flying bombs, but only a few aircraft were produced in 1944. Some were used by bomb wing KG 3.
NOTE: The aircraft in the photo is of KG 3. The aircraft is coded as CK, and is thus (likely) CK-GA of 2.Staffel (or II.Gruppe Stab) Kampfgeschwader 3. Other sources say it is 5K-GA of Stab.KG 3. Meanwhile, Steven J. Zaloga claims it is He 111H-16 of KG 3 during the testing of air-launched V-1s at Karlshagen airfield on 17 August 1943. Zaloga is likely correct, as the missile has "V83" on the tail (not to be confused with the V-83 piloted V-1), meaning it was one of the pre-production testing aircraft during the 1943 air-launched trials. Original caption: "A V-1 mounted on an He 111 bomber for air-launching. This program was unsuccessful. (U.S. Air Force photo)" |
