Summary

[edit]
Description

This galaxy was observed due to a supernova - SN 2016bau. This is in Arp's catalogue as an example of a spiral galaxy with one heavy arm, but that doesn't seem to be the case for this galaxy. It's a pretty standard spiral.

The chip gap was filled with older WFPC2 data where it could be. I painted some fake data to minimise distraction where no data was available. To the left, there is also some lower resolution WFPC2 data. Quite a few cosmic rays were removed and some pretty intense sharpness/clarity adjustments were made.
