Penthorum je malehni rod cvjetnica iz zasebne porodice Penthoraceae, u redu Saxifragales, razred Magnoliopsida, divizija Tracheophyta.[1]
Ima samo dvije vrste, jednu u istočnoj Rusiji, Korejskom poluotoku i Japanu (Penthorum chinense), a druga na istoku i srednjem zapadu Sjedinjenih država (P. sedoides) [2]
