Xavier Rodriguez is a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. He joined the court in 2003 after being nominated by President George W. Bush.

Early life and education

Born in San Antonio, Texas, Rodriguez graduated from Harvard University with his bachelor's degree in 1983 and received a dual J.D. and master's in public affairs from the University of Texas in 1987.[1]

Rodriguez was nominated to the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas by PresidentGeorge W. Bush on May 1, 2003, to a seat vacated by Edward Prado. The American Bar Association rated Rodriguez Unanimously Well Qualified for the nomination. Hearings on Rodriguez's nomination were held before the Senate Judiciary Committee on July 9, 2003, and his nomination was reported by U.S. Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) on July 17, 2003. Rodriguez was confirmed on a voice vote of the U.S. Senate on July 31, 2003, and he received his commission the next day.[1][2][3]
