William Julius Barker
William Julius Barker (1886-1968) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He was nominated to the court by President Roosevelt in 1940.

Federal judicial career
Barker was nominated to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida by Franklin D. Roosevelt on January 11, 1940, to a seat vacated by Alexander Akerman. He was confirmed by the Senate on February 1, 1940, and received commission on February 5, 1940. He served as chief judge of the court from 1955-1959. Barker assumed senior status on April 30, 1959 and continued serving in that capacity until his death on April 13, 1968.[1]
