Noteworthy cases
Donald J. Trump v. Cyrus R. Vance, Jr.
On October 7, 2019, Marrero dismissed a lawsuit which President Donald Trump (R) had brought against Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. (D) regarding the release of President Trump's tax returns. The lawsuit challenged a state grand jury subpoena which Vance had obtained compelling the Trump Organization's accounting firm to turn over eight years' worth of the organization's tax returns and of President Trump's personal tax returns. The president's legal team issued an appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit.[4][5] Read the text of Judge Marrero's decision here.
