Jones has been a pastor for 13 years at Hands of Praise Church.[2] Jones has also owned JCJ and Associates for 22 years and is a public speaker and author.[2]

Jones ran in the 2012 election for Georgia State Senate District 35. Jones and Cory Lynch ran and lost against incumbent Donzella James in the Democratic primary on July 31, 2012. Benjamin Brooks is running unopposed in the Republican primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[1][4]
