The United States of America (USA), commonly referred to as the United States (US) or America, is a country located on the continent of North America of the Earth of Earth-1. During the times of the Civil War, it was referred to as The Union, with its southern separatists calling themselves the Confederacy. The country was destroyed along with its Earth during the Anti-Monitor Crisis. [1]

The United States is one of the great powers on the Earth of Earth-1, and was one of the nations of this Earth possessing nuclear weaponry, along with the Soviet Union (the precursor to Russia), Markovia, Corto Maltese and the USA's own NATO allies. A.R.G.U.S., a special ops devision in the United States, created Rubicon, an override protocol, for its ability to control all of the world's nuclear weaponry, as the organisation viewed them as one of the greatest influences on the politics of the world.[2]

The U.S. worked with its powered, and also non-powered, heroes to help its citizens.
The United States Army was a powerful force on the world arena, participating in World War II. They also had other global interests, such as those connected to the Alpha-Omega bioweapon and the rise of meta-humans.[3] However, the latter would become the reason why the United States (as well as many other countries on Earth) were invaded by the alien race known as the Dominators, beginning in Redmond, Oregon.[4]

The United States was home to a number of vigilantes and superheroes, such as The Flash, The Atom, Vixen and Green Arrow, along with teams of their own. It was also a base of operations for the meta-humans and enhanced criminals like the Reverse-Flash and Deathstroke, as well as powerful terrorist organizations like H.I.V.E. and Shadowspire.
