"Where I'm from, there is no Batman. The Waynes adopted me when I was only days old, and when they were gunned down in the alley, I swore to protect my city at all costs. For ten years, I locked up the dregs of society. Hush, Simon Hurt, even my own brother; only to see them escape Arkham and go right back to preying on the innocent."
Ryan Wilder[src]

Gotham City, simply known as Gotham, is the city in which Ryan Wilder lived and operated as a vigilante. The city is notorious for criminal activity, and was described as "dying" by its former hero.[1]

Overview[]

Crime[]

As a vigilante, Ryan Wilder encountered many criminals over the decade she operated. Many notorious criminals, such as "Hush", Simon Hurt, and her own brother were rampaging through the streets of Gotham, breaking out of prison just as quickly as they were incarcerated.

Vigilantism[]

Ryan Wilder did her best to serve as Gotham's protector. Before going insane and becoming a criminal herself, Ryan, as "The Bat", spent ten years watching over her city. Before completely spiraling into a fit of rage and mental instability, Ryan adopted the identity of the Red Death, and used an Artificial Speed Force (via her suit) to prevent crime on a city-wide level.

Health[]

  • Arkham: Upon their capture, Ryan took the criminals of Gotham to a prison/asylum named Arkham, where they would promptly escape and continue to wreak havoc.

History[]

During the Anti-Monitor Crisis, after the Spectre died battling the Anti-Monitor, creating a new multiverse, this city was formed on Earth-4125.[2]

Beginnings[]

At some point, the Waynes became well-known individuals in Gotham. They adopted Ryan Wilder as an infant and raised her as their own. Years later, The Waynes were shot dead in an alleyway and left their now orphan daughter filled with rage and determination to defend the people who are preyed upon.

Era of the Bat[]

As a young adult, Ryan became a vigilante and defended her city from criminals.

Era of the Red Death[]

Discouraged by her time as a vigilante not having any lasting effect on the safety of Gotham, Ryan donned a new persona, in the form of a hybrid between her original bat-motif and the powers of her ally from The League, The Flash. Much more ruthless than before, Red Death was not wary to killing in the name of "justice", which seemingly eliminated crime in Gotham due to the fear she put into the hearts of criminals in her beloved city.
