The 67th Street Branch of The New York Public Library was opened in 1905. The library building was designed by the architectural firm of Babb, Cook & Willard and was constructed with funds provided by Andrew Carnegie. The branch closed for extensive renovation at the end of August 1951 and re-opened to the public on May 26, 1952.
