Iosephus Greenberg, vulgo Joseph Harold Greenberg, (Brooklyni natus die 28 Maii 1915; die 7 Maii 2001 Stanfordiae in California mortuus) fuit linguista Americanus familia Iudaica ortus. Universitatem Columbiae frequentavit, unde adiuvantibus Francisco Boas et Ruth Benedict ad universitatem Boreoccidentalem progressus est. Studia eius ibi direxit Melville Herskovitz, qui et ipse discipulus fuerat Boasianus. Greenberg deinde apud Yalenses studuit, mox apud Minnesotenses, et in alma matre Columbiana docuit, ubi Romanum Jakobson et Andream Martinet cognovit. Ab anno 1962 lector et professor in universitate Stanfordiensi fuit.
Greenberg multis operibus ad descriptionem et distributionem geneticam familiarum linguarum (praesertim Africanarum et Amerindarum) contulit, quae autem notiones etiamnunc aliquatenus controversae manent. Praeterea, magnus auctor hodiernae typologiae linguisticae habetur.
